This Love of Hashem, How Can it Be?

A Poem of Praise

by Kimberly Davis

The highest peaks of holiness,

I cannot yet comprehend

And so, I press on in my searching

To know more of You,

my G-d, Hashem.

Beyond my own comprehension,

More vast than my eyes can see—

The complexities of Your Holy Truth, And all You do in Your love for me.

Me—an amalgam of dirt and dust,

Yet, chosen before space and time

By my loving Heavenly Father

For salvation (as a Jew) to be mine.

Mine, only because

of Your selfless choice

Performed in the dark of the deep—

The secret place, where I was formed, and chosen to be redeemed.

I bring nothing to Your table

that can add to the glory of You.

Yet here I stand before my King,

I, Your bride and You, my Groom.

This love of G-d, how can it be?

I cannot comprehend.

So, in abashed awe I kneel,

and simply praise You without end.

Am Yisrael Chai!
