A Cry for Mercy
A Poem of Praise
by Kimberly Davis
Hear me when I call, Oh G-d Of boundless mercy and grace. Hear me when I cry, Oh G-d. Please do not hide Your face!
Have mercy, Oh G-d, and hear my plea, The enemies consume like raging fire!
Save me, Oh G-d, from their grip of death, Don’t let them drown me in their mire.
How long, Hashem, how long, my King Will you tarry and let evil reign?
How long, Hashem, how long, my Friend ’Til you prove my suffering is not in vain?
I cry, Oh G-d, I plea, my LORD, for Your countenance to lift me high.
Set ablaze, Oh G-d, the dreary skies. Banish the darkness with Your radiant Light!
Prove mighty, Hashem, my Shield and Strength. Prove mighty, Hashem to save!
Pour out Your Power with force, Hashem.
Put Satan in his fiery grave!
Come, Hashem, with Your Victor’s Cry, Oh, come my King, my LORD.
Come, Hashem, with Truth and Might And kill the lies with Your double-edged sword!
Have mercy, Hashem, and hear my cry. Have mercy, Oh G-d, I plea!
Have mercy, Hashem, on Your suffering saint.
Have mercy, Oh G-d, on me!
Am Yisrael Chai!
